It’s been a week since I arrived in The Netherlands, the training goes very well and there are a lot of things that I learned, not mentioning that I can’t remember them all. I have visited Amsterdam last Friday as the part of the training and got a chance to do canal cruise while having lunch, that was very great. On Sunday, I went to Maastricht which located 3 hours from Den Haag. My friends and I went there to see a carnival, but we didn’t get much time since all of us were vulnerable to the cold and wanted to be back to our flat in Den Haag as soon as we could.

The air is always cold (well, what do I expect in the end of February and in the beginning of March?). I’m still trying to get used to the life rhythm here which is too much different with my country. But, I think I’ll never get used to the cold which kill me every day. I still have four weeks to go and I hope the weather will get warmer.

I’ll be in Den Haag, Netherlands for 1,5 month (the end of Feb until the beginning of April) for training and will go on a trip to Brussel and hopefully Paris. What concern me the most is the cold weather, I never experienced an extreme cold temperature and I hope it would be warmer around those days.

I wonder if there is any Arashi fans near Den Haag (I’ll be staying in Arensdoorp) and of course, I plan to visit Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht during my stay.

This is my first trip to Europe and I am so excited. Is there any advice for me from you who live in Europe? I’m prepared with the coat, but I’m afraid it wouldn’t be enough to handle the cold.

This is my second time to travel to Australia for business trip and this time is Sydney!! Yay

The weather here is freaking cold – not as cold as Northern Europe but it’s already too cold for me. I’m here to attend the IACEPA meeting which stands for Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (don’t ask me the details because it’s too complicated LOL and kinda top secret).

Basically I have not much time to hang around since I have to sit at the meeting room and bla bla bla. However, I want to use that limited time to visit some places, oh and I haven’t visited Opera House which is very close to the hotel where the meeting was held.

I plan to visit it tomorrow (if the weather permits me because it’s raining all day).

I always get excited for business trip, not to mention that I have to write long and boring report and make a courtesy call to the Indonesian consulate general, but overall it’s exciting to see new places. I hope I can visit Melbourne or Perth next time.

PS: I think it’s really easy to live this city, but I don’t want to be posted here because I aim for Japan (if I’m lucky enough).

PS 2: That was the plane I rode to Sydney, I was dreaming of riding it when I worked at Bali Aiport six years ago, well, the moral story is : dare to dream, right??
I mean, I would have never ridden that plane with my own money LOL

Finally, I stepped my own feet in Japanese land, it was a short visit, less than a week, but I had great times with my husband and his family. We arrived at 8 am, local time and it was freezing outside. My parents’ in-law picked up us from the airport and it needed two hours to reach their house. The scene along the way was beautiful, started from the city scene of Osaka and Kobe until Himeji. I saw on TV what Japan looked like, but it was very different compared to see it directly and I didn’t feel like a stranger at all, maybe because I meet Japanese every day a.k.a my husband LoL.

I ate a lot of pork, literally a lot! I went to Osaka and Kobe by car and was surprised of how expensive the parking area was :D. I met with friends from Osaka and drank beer in the daylight; it was fun and strange at the same time, because I used to meet them in Bali. I had a chance to visit Osaka Castle and Harukas 300 where Nino wiped its windows in Shiyagare.

Of course, my trip wouldn’t complete without visiting Kyoto where I experienced Maiko-san’s Kimono, well, it didn’t turn the way I wanted because I looked like an old lady haha. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to visit Arashiyama, since I had no time left and must go back to Himeji before it was too late.

I think it’s reasonable why so many people idolized Japan and wanted to live in that country, not mentioning it’s so expensive and there are so many rules to obey. I hope I would get another chance to be there (or maybe looking for scholarship through my Ministry would be a great idea), and I hope my Ministry would put me there someday, I’ll work my ass very hard for that!!
I still have so many places to visit in Japan, and of course watch Arashi’s concert (hopefully), it would be great if I can live there. But, now I have to work hard for the year-end-schedule (don’t want to see the piles of documents on my desk).

I haven't made anything for Riida's birthday, maybe later :)

Hi guys! It’s been a long time since I posted my first fic meme in 2011 where I asked for feedback on my fics and I got both, good advice and some people told me to go to hell LOL. I think I need it now (don’t throw bricks at me, please). So what do you think of me and my fic world for all this time? I’m not going to quit unless writing is a crime and I have to be jailed for that XDD

MURAKAMI’S WORLD

The first time I read Murakami’s work was in 2009. My friend was a novel freak and I happened to borrow her book, ‘Norwegian Wood’, which was the only Japanese novel she had. The book was well translated into Indonesian and that was the time I called it ‘love at the first reading’. Murakami had changed my view about how novel should be, he could make us entering his world, the way he described the situation, the way he chose the right words and the beautiful poem-like writing style is ready to accompany you to the end of his book.

I wrote my thesis based on ‘Norwegian Wood’ and I enjoyed it very much, I could answer the tutor’s questions for all day if it’s about his novel.

I began to collect his works, both English and Japanese version and no matter what languages, the beauty of his novel is hard to describe. Murakami doesn’t solve anything in his novels; he let us stay in a mystery together with the main character, perhaps for some people it’s bad to leave your readers confused, but for me, it’s a charm that no other writers have.

The observer even said that he is ‘the best novelist on the planet’ and I can’t agree more with that. He is just amazing.

Here are my favorite lines from Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki:

"You can hide memories, but you can't erase the history that produced them"

“Still, being able to feel pain was good, he thought. It's when you can't even feel pain anymore that you're in real trouble.”

“Some things in life are too complicated to explain in any language.”

Listening to Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience album and it's a kind of reminder to me that I'm going to get married next week.
Why Justin out of the blue? Maybe because I grow up with him for all these 15 years, since that curly-blonde hair in Nsync until he married Jessica Biel.

Now, it's my turn to enter a new phase in my life, even though it doesn't mean I'll go to another galaxy and leave what I have. I'm still around, writing fics, translating mags, watching Arashi and doing crazy things.

my pre wedding pic (or maybe not) haha with my boyfriend, he's Japanese and support me with all arashi things, including buying me magazines, uchiwas, etc.

I don't know, but Justin Timberlake has helped me to enter wedding mode.

Okay, enough with my blabbering

I AM DEAD TODAY AND FOREVER...DON'T ASK ME WHY
yun_miyake: ohmiya (my satoshi)
I rarely post something personal on this journal, but today was one of my biggest days. I graduated my diplomatic training and officially a diplomat from now on. There are so many things I need to learn and explore and this is just the beginning of everything.

I am so grateful to be here and I never admitted it before, but I love my country, Indonesia. The place where we unite in diversity, I am different from my friends, but I never feel as the minority because we are equal.

My group and I (seven dwarfs LOL) took this picture with our Madam Ambassador. She is one of the most humble persons I have ever met and we are very lucky to have her as our supervisor during the training.

I will be in India by next November for a month and I am so excited. As a Hindu myself, it would be a big chance to visit where Hindu originally came from.

Any arashian in New Delhi??

I can’t believe it! I am so lucky to get the chance!

Even with some major problems, so I need some helps from you who have been in Japan and have been to Arashi concert.

First, is there any possibility to change the date? I get the ticket for 14 of November at Fukuoka Dome, I wonder if anyone wants to exchange the ticket with me. I hope I can get the ticket for 15th concert.

Second, this is my first time to travel to Japan and I don’t know how to get the Fukuoka Dome and where I should start (I really appreciate if anyone can give me advices).

But above all the problems, I am so happy now! I mean this is everyone’s dream right? To watch Arashi live concert someday….even though we have to spend a lot of money (reality hit).

My New Year gift was an announcement from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia and I passed!!
I couldn't believe what I read and I cried, but it's real and I will start my new life as a diplomat (still long windy road to go though).
So, all my hard works were paid now and I believe what Arashi's songs said, 'yume ha kitto kanau hazu' I dared myself to dream, even for the most impossible thing and it's really great when you can reach it with your own hand. I know I will face a new life and it must be hard, but no matter how, Arashi will always be my role model and I will come to them in Japan!!!!!

Thanks to eiko_lotus nee chan who always be there for me and fulfill your promise to take me to my new life by yourself, I will be your nuisance for another eight months and I hope you'll never sick of me LOL.

Believe what Arashi said :)
